Jose Mourinho refuses to answer Dele Alli question as Tottenham boss fumes at Antwerp loss | Football | Sport

Speaking post-match, Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle said of Alli’s display against Antwerp: “I think it is [becoming an issue]. This was his opportunity.

“Jose will have put him in there thinking, ‘OK, hit me right between the eyes, have a great game, score a goal maybe.’

“But it just didn’t happen for him. At the moment in his all-round game, he’s giving the ball away too many times.

“His options are there, he’s trying his best, but it’s not happening for him. He’s making poor decisions.

“It’s sloppy little play like that that is not going to get him in the team.”

Fellow BT Sport pundit Owen Hargreaves added: “I think he’s lacking in confidence, you could see his frustration at the fact he was making mistakes.
